This explains what linkfree stores, why, and how to get it out or delete it. It is written against what the software actually does, so it names tables and providers instead of speaking in general terms.
Who is responsible
linkfree is operated from Spain. For anything about your data, write to hello@getlinkfree.com and a person will answer.
What we store about you
Your account is an email address and nothing else. There is no password, because signing in works by sending you a link.
Everything else in your account is what you typed into your own page:
- Your username, display name, bio and the theme you picked.
- Your links: the title, the address and the order you put them in.
- The photo you upload, if you upload one. It is resized in your browser and stored as a single file.
- Your custom domain, if you connect one.
What we store about visits to your page
Your page counts visits and clicks so you can see what people open. It does so without keeping anything that points back at a person.
Clicks are a running total per link and per day. There is no row per click, no address and no timestamp beyond the date.
Visits are the same: a total per day, plus how many came from each source, device type and country. The country comes from the CDN, the same way it decides which server answers you.
Unique visitors work differently and it is worth explaining, because the usual way of counting them is to store an identifier. We do not. Your browser keeps a random number; the server mixes it with the page and the date, turns on one bit out of 4096, and throws the number away. Two different people can land on the same bit, and from a bit there is no way back to a person. That is exactly what makes it safe to keep forever.
Email addresses collected on your page
If you put a subscribe block on your page, the addresses people leave there are yours, not ours. We store them so you can read and export them, and we do not write to them for any reason of our own.
If you are the one leaving your address on somebody’s page: you are giving it to that person. Write to them, or to us, and it gets deleted.
Who else touches the data
Four companies, each doing one job:
- Supabase — the database, the sign-in links and the file storage.
- Netlify — serves the site and runs the small functions behind it.
- Resend — sends the emails the product needs to send.
- Google Analytics — counts page views across the site, including the public pages. It measures visits, not people: the numbers your page shows you are worked out separately, and that calculation is the one described above.
How long it is kept
Your account and your page stay until you delete them. The daily totals stay, because they carry nothing personal and losing them would mean losing your history.
To delete your account you ask us from Settings, and a person does it: the account, the page, the links, the photo and the subscriber list go with it. It is not a button because a button that destroys all of that sits behind nothing more than an open session, and a session is what someone gets by reaching your email.
Taking it with you, and deleting it
Settings has a button that hands you the whole thing: a JSON file with everything in your account, and a standalone HTML file of your page with the images embedded, which opens without us.
There is no form to fill in and no email to wait for. That is on purpose: four link-in-bio services closed between 2024 and 2026 and none of them let people take their pages out.
Next to it is the form to ask for the deletion. Taking your page out needs nobody; destroying it does.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. The copy you take yourself at any hour without asking us; the deletion you ask for from Settings or at hello@getlinkfree.com, and we do it.
If you think we handled it badly, you can complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Cookies
Signing in needs one piece of storage in your browser, and without it you cannot stay signed in.
Your public page sets nothing. Someone who opens it and leaves takes nothing with them.
